Wynn Supports Lifting Caps on Family Care
(Madison, WI) – State Representative Evan Wynn (R – Whitewater) voted Tuesday to support a bill to lift the caps on Family Care, Wisconsin’s long-term care program. The bill passed the state Assembly on a bipartisan vote of 87-6, and now awaits approval by the State Senate, and then Gov. Scott Walker’s signature. Wynn said the bill could lead to Rock County being added to the program, the only county in southern Wisconsin to be excluded.
“The caps on the Family Care program have prevented Rock County from becoming part of this efficient and successful program,” said Wynn, “I’m glad to give this bill my full support and I will continue to ensure Rock County receives the services the residents need.”
The Family Care program is designed to provide cost-effective, comprehensive and flexible long-term care focused on sustaining independence and quality of life, according to its web site. The program serves the elderly, people with physical disabilities, and people with developmental disabilities in 57 counties in Wisconsin.
Rep. Wynn represents the 43rd Assembly District, which covers portions of Rock, Jefferson, Dane and Walworth counties.
