Wynn Rips Assembly Democrats for Filibustering
(Madison, WI) – State Representative Evan Wynn (R – Whitewater) had harsh words for the Democrats in the state Assembly on Friday as they used delaying tactics to prevent the peoples’ work from being accomplished. Meanwhile over 30 bills, bills that constituents want a vote on now, have been languishing, waiting for Democrats to stop playing childish games, said Wynn.
“These bills deal with issues such as rights for crime victims, sexual predators, geothermal wells, ambulatory surgical centers, District Attorney pay, health care benefits, and highway safety,” said Wynn. “It is a shame that Democrats have decided to put politics ahead of legislation effecting people in Wisconsin just because they haven’t gotten their way.”

“It is amazing how they seem more concerned about playing politics than passing bills that passed out of the Senate.” said Wynn.
The State Senate finished their work Thursday afternoon, however, the Assembly Democrats came to the floor Thursday using demagoguery and filibusters. After breaking for a three-hour strategy meeting at midnight, they continued their delay tactics with mundane remarks that put some of their own members to sleep.
Rep. Wynn represents the 43rd Assembly District, which covers portions of Rock, Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth counties.
