Rep. Wynn Announces Four Venterans Bills
(Whitewater) -- Today, State Representative Evan Wynn (R – Whitewater) announced four pieces of legislation that are aimed at helping reduce unemployment among veterans. Wynn, a 22-year veteran of the Army and Marine Corps and Iraq War Veteran, announced the bills at a press conference among various veteran representatives from Wisconsin’s veterans service organizations.
The bills include tax credits for hiring unemployed disabled veterans, professional licensure changes for veterans, and appointment of disabled veterans to state positions.
“Unemployment among veterans is much higher than the average population. Some estimate disabled veterans face unemployment rates reaching 50 percent,” said Wynn. “These four bills will help veterans make a smooth transition into civilian life. They will promote the hiring of disabled veterans, and encourage entrepreneurship and professional advancement of veterans through the licensing process.”
Rep. Wynn represents the 43rd Assembly District, which covers Whitewater, Milton, Edgerton, and most of western Rock County.
